We are committed to making our working environment more sustainable. Read on to find out more about our initiatives and schemes...

Bike Parks
The University offers free cycle training courses and a tax benefit scheme for buying a new bike. There is a cycle mileage allowance for travelling by cycle on University business. There are showers located in Harrison and the neighbouring Laver building.

BookCycle
The Harrison BookCycle is located in the staff common room on the second floor.

Sustainable Food @ Harry’s
Fair-trade tea and coffee is available at Harry’s.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Recycling bins for cans, plastics and paper are situated on stairwells.  Large card, can, plastics and glass recycling bins are located in the Harrison loading bay & boxes to recycle batteries, ink cartridges and stamps are located in the Foyer.

Saving Energy
The School is looking closely at energy usage in Harrison to target where electricity is wasted in a bid to cut down.

Car Sharing Scheme
The University has it's own private group within CarShareDevon

Saving Paper
All printers and copiers within the building use recycled paper and duplex printing.

Sustainable Produce
The School is working towards using locally sourced, seasonal foods when catering.

Switch it off...
There is an active policy to switch off lights within Harrison; look out for the labels on light switches throughout the building.

Green Impact
We were awarded Bronze level accreditation in the recent Green Impact awards.
